Hi there, I was wondering if it's possible to add cursor printing similar to how the Phosphor screensaver works from the XScreenSaver collection.
Essentially, instead of the text appearing instantly, the terminal would slowly print the characters on the screen, with a visible cursor jumping back and forth, in case the screen was redrawn, etc.
Print speed could be another effect, or whatever. It would make it similar to a VT220 dumb terminal connected to a computer over a slow serial connection.
While I'm unsure if there's sources available for it, there was an old-ish Mac OS X terminal called GLTerminal, that had a baud-rate simulator as one of its built-in features. Setting a low baud-rate like 9600 would result in the slow-printing effect you describe.
