The application doesn't exit when all of it's windows are closed.

Observed in Mac OS.

Isn’t that MacOS convention, though? To exit, you need to explicitly issue a Quit command, often bound to ⌘Q?

That would have been the case if the app allowed more than 1 window. Additionally the application doesn't have a menu entry. Only the terminal windows do. So after you close the window you can't Cmd-Tab to the app and pressing Cmd-Q actually closes the previously focused app.
